Gearóidín Charlton, BCL, MSc (Syst Orgs & Man) graduated from UCD in 1981 and qualified as a solicitor in 1985. For eighteen years, she practised family law in a medium sized firm and headed up their family law department. She subsequently set up her own practice in 2002, now Charltons Solicitors, specialising in family law and related issues.
Gearóidín is a trained collaborative family lawyer and is an advocate of the collaborative model of practice in family disputes. She is also a trained mediator and strongly believes that alternative dispute resolution is the most appropriate way of dealing with the majority of disputes arising out of relationship breakdown. Gearóidín is a qualified psychotherapist which equips her with valuable additional skills to deal with the challenges facing clients and lawyers alike in cases of matrimonial or relationship breakdown.
Gearóidín is a former chairperson of the Association of Collaborative Practitioners and continues as a member of the Board. She is a co-founder and chairperson of South Dublin Collaborative Practitioners and Mediators. She is a member of the Law Society of Ireland, the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association, the Family Lawyers’ Association and both the Irish and international Associations of Collaborative Practitioners. Jackie Harte qualified as a solicitor in 2011 and is a graduate of UCD. She joined Charltons Solicitors in 2021 and practises mainly in the areas of probate and conveyancing. She is also experienced in the field of litigation. Before qualifying as a solicitor she lived in the USA where she worked for Wells Fargo bank. She is a member of the Law Society and the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association. She takes a keen interest in green issues and climate change.
Judy Joined Charltons in September 2021 as Office Manager with an extensive background in Management and Client Services both in the public and private sector.
She oversees the background running of the office and is usually your first point of contact in the office and on the phone.
She looks forward to helping you with your journey through the legal system.
Machi is from Paphos, Cyprus and has been working with Charltons Solicitors since 2021.
In 2017 Machi graduated from Birmingham City University with an Llb(Hons) Degree in Law and in 2019 a MA(Hons) in Criminology.
After graduating Machi worked as a law trainee with G.Prodromou Associates LLP in her native Cyprus, a law firm who specialises in civil and commercial law litigation.
She moved to Ireland at the end of 2020 and has been working in Charltons since.
Tina is a Legal Executive with over 20 years experience in Probate, E.P.A’s and Conveyancing matters. She holds a certificate in Legal Studies, BSc in Applied Social Science and M.A in Screenwriting. She is also an accomplished produced playwright/screenwriter.
Janet joined Charltons with no legal experience but her infectious charm, her therapeutic personality and an ability to communicate without a word spoken has earned her a place as an invaluable member of our team.
Pauline has earned an international reputation as a pioneer in the family-friendly, interdisciplinary, values-based team approach to family breakup and restructuring that is known as Collaborative Divorce, not only offering skilled collaborative legal representation to her own clients but also teaching the interdisciplinary collaborative method to lawyers and other professionals (mental health and financial) across the world. For that work the American Bar Association in 2002 conferred upon her its first “Lawyer as Problem Solver” award. Collaborative Practice California (“CP California”) awarded her the “Eureka” Prize for leadership in collaborative practice.
